Rural Electrification

Yesterday, one of my friends who is now serving at a remote area of Shan State visited me and asked me for a donation of building a small hydro power plant. He told a story of the life in the rural area without electricity and I felt shocked and I wonder why the rural area did not have a chance to use electricity.
As everyone knows, electricity is an essential in these days and it is difficult for us to compete with the world without electricity. Not only the cities and towns but also the small towns and villages need electricity. However, only the people in cities and towns can have a dream of electricity life and the people in rural area can not have the same dream.
Electricity is becoming an essential magic nowadays. It can promote the education standard of the people in the rural area. In my opinion, most people in remote area are very poor and their lives are very miserable. Lack of education or low level education is the most important basic reason for it. The people of our country population is larger in rural area than the urban area. Making the developing of the rural area is making the nation’s development. Why don’t we make a policy that prioritizes the rural electrification.
It may be argued that planning electrification in rural area is much more costly than the urban and the benefit will be lesser. If may be true for a short time. Differently, for a long term, rural electrification is as important as the urban area.
I hope, our relatives in rural area could enjoy the benefit of electrification in the near future like those in urban area.
