Auditorium is not a proper venue to hold a press conference where the speaker is being dominated by the journalists. Psychologically the position of the stage is very important to orchestrate the whole plot in which the speaker must be able to influence the setting. Everything must be under the smart control of the speaker. The host is to be physically in a higher position than the guests.
