Mysterious Journey

A summon from Tokyo came to us anonymously. The march to Tokyo was full of unknowns. Tokyo hosted us nicely as usual, and it made us more frustrated. After having delicious dinner, we did not fail to do our academic discussion for the final exam going to be held within two-three days.

Unexpectedly but not surprisingly, our passports were collected by giving reason of making photo-copies. The discussion on “Essential of Economics” subject suddenly stopped. We looked at one another and I thought I saw something in the eyes of my colleagues. Similarly, they might also see the same thing in my eyes. We felt like we had nothing to discuss anymore and no one wanted to go on taking about anything. We went to bed so quietly. However, how could we go sleep well?

The next morning, we were asked to be in the dining room at seven. I did not remember how I finished my breakfast. The host, the driver, two staffs, and three of us had a good talk. The host told many jokes, and it appeared to be a funny conversation. However, how could we enjoy it without knowing what would be happening in the next one-two hours. I did not know what was going on with us, and I was not sure whether my colleagues knew it or not. Fortunately or unfortunately, no one expressed their anxiety on the mystery.

After driving for about one and a half hour, I felt like we were approaching Narita International Airport. And it really did. The host asked one of us to unload the luggage and. . .
