ေဘာဂေဗဒ သေဘာတရားအရဆိုရင္ ၀ယ္လိုအားနဲ႕ ေရာင္းလိုအားရွိၿပီး ၀ယ္နိုင္ေရာင္းႏိုင္ၾကတယ္ဆိုရင္ ေစ်းကြက္ဆိုတာ ရွိလာတာပါပဲ။ အဲသည္ေစ်းကြက္တစ္ခုက အစိုးရက စည္းမ်ဥ္းဥပေဒနဲ႕ လည္ပတ္ခြင့္မေပးဘူးဆိုရင္လည္း ေစ်းကြက္က ေပ်ာက္မသြားဘဲ ေမွာင္ခိုေစ်းကြက္ ျဖစ္သြားရပါတယ္။ ဆိုရွယ္လစ္ေခတ္ကို ေက်ာ္ျဖတ္လာခဲ့တဲ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႕ႏိုင္ငံက ေမွာင္ခိုေစ်းကြက္ရဲ႕ သေဘာတရားကို ေကာင္းေကာင္းနားလည္ပါတယ္။

The Underline Meaning???

In 2017, the NLD organized interfaith prayer for paece in Yangon and other parts of the country amongst the criticisms of the opposition group led by the USDP. The events were accused as an abuse of religions for political purposes, and the leading body of the Sangha known as Mahana officially banned its members in participating such events. However, a similar rally was organized in Mandalay and some buddhist monks attended it. It could be expected that the ruling party NLD is going to organize, directly or indirectly, many more mass mobilizations until the election campaign for 2020 are officially launched.

Thai-Myanmar Military Relations

What does really constitute the sound relations between Thailand military and its counterpart of Myanmar? One of my friends suggests it as “mentor and protégé” pattern since he assumes it as a Thailand-Myanmar version of “Operation Condor”. This idea is partly acceptable as both nations have a similar history of military intervention in the politics but what is missing here is the cooperation between the two militaries in political intervention although they share the same mindset of looking down on the politicians’ political will. Even they experienced the worst relations in 2001 border conflict when Myanmar was under the administration of the military council. Currently, they do have cooperation but exclusively in military affairs. The two armies are no more than the “birds with a feather flock together” rather than the metaphor of “Operation Condor”.

Smart but

The special commission of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw widely known as U Shwe Mann Commission was abolished by the almost unanimous decision of the MPs just a day before its expiration date. The Tatmadaw members have always been making their objection of the existence of the commission since it is considered as unconstitutional. The irony was when the speaker asked for the approval of the hluttaw for the one year extension of the commission, the NLD MPs kept silent as if they all agreed the proposal but two MPs, one from the Tatmadaw and one from the opposition party USDP signaled their disagreement by standing up. Surprisingly, the silent majority of the parliament although they have already given instruction what to do, gave no vote for the extension of the term of the commission.

. . . Here, what the NLD did in the parliament seems to be smart. The speaker proposed the case, the opposition and the Tatmadaw showed their objection, and went voting for the decision. The NLD casted NO vote. The process seems to be very smart. It was really smart.

. . . But wait!

It was smart enough but was it a wise decision to orchestrate the plot in that way? Why did the NLD choose to do so? Didn’t they have no option to abolish the commission?

. . . Removing the Commission from the formal sovereign institution is a proper decision since the chairman of the commission has already registered a new political party. That was not the case. The case here is the way the NLD did it.

Actually, the chairman of the current ruling party NLD, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was nurtured and supported by the ex-Speaker of the hluttaw U Shwe Mann when her party won the byelection and entered into the parliament as a leader of the minority opposition party. They made ally in the parliament. When the NLD won a landslide victory in the 2015 general elections, the loser U Shwe Mann was appointed as the chairman of the special commission admist the objection of the Tatmadaw members. After three years term, the commission was abolished democratically without the prior knowledge of the chairman.

. . . The two events within the same session of the parliament clearly indicate that the NLD is going into RADICAL way for orchestrating the political plots in the parliament by the force of the majority. Did not they consider the backlash of over-smartness?

. . . I wish such plots were not orchestrated by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who has a good reputation of reiterating such big words as NEGOTIATION, PEACEFUL WAY, and bla bla.
