It was a beautiful Sunday of 2015 Autumn. We were in the activity of mountain trekking organized by a professor. All the ranges of Hakkaisan was amazingly shining with color-changing leaves. The helicopter flying over the camping hut was to take the injured person to the hospital.

This is the best ever photo I have taken during my three attempts to the peak from 2014 to 2016.

It is one of the three famous peaks in the Echigo region. Since ancient times this mountain has been considered important in Sangaku Shinko (mountain beliefs) and many worshipers have climbed this sacred mountain. During the seasons when the land is green, everyone, including mountain enthusiasts, can lightheartedly enjoy riding the cable car up to the fourth station, while in the winter season it is a ski resort, making this mountain busy all year round. IUJ has a trekking trip in every autumn.
